Toe in the Water
Open 60 Sailing (Again!)
Posted September 16th, 2009 by julian megsonRecently I got a call at work from my wife, Fiona. She had just taken another call saying that Steve White was sailing his Open 60 Race Yacht “Toe In The Water” that same night to France, to have some work done to the boat and that he had invited me to sail with him. |

Posted August 28th, 2009 by Dee CaffariUnfortunately day two of racing today was cancelled. We were out in the bay watching the wind build from twenty knots to nearly forty knots. As competitors were calling into the committee boat to retire from racing a big squall came through which convinced the organisers to cancel racing for the day. I think it was a prudent call as it was all a little fruity out there. Yesterday we had two races in class IRC 1. Toe in the Water had a short practise with a couple of tacks and gybes with the spinnaker then we were off lining up and jostling for position on the start line for race 1. All was looking good, then |
Finishing the Fastnet Race
Posted August 15th, 2009 by DuffDuffIt was around 8 pm when the gun went off and that was it, the Fastnet Race was over. According to Steve White, this has been the slowest one he's done so far. |
