Lake Garda, Italy - The 2008 RC 44 Malcesine SLAM Cup concluded last week in one of the most beautiful inland sailing venues on the planet. This fourth sailing regatta of the RC 44 Championship Tour opened with match racing, and the one-design yacht fleet enjoyed the land breezes for which the lake is famous, completing all scheduled round-robin matches. As the week progressed to the fleet sailing events, however, the winds diminished, and only four yacht races were run.

Lake Traun, Austria - Igor Lah and James Spithill of the Slovenian team Ceeref have won the RC44 Austria Cup. “James Spithill did a fantastic job today, and the crew was just perfect; they haven’t done a single mistake. I enjoy lake sailing. It is very challenging but it is beautiful.” said Igor Lah, helmsman for Team Ceeref.

Sardinia, Italy - With two races to sail on the last day of the Cagliari RC 44 Cup, Armando Giulietti’s Team Hiroshi – Città di Milano was sitting at an enviable position yesterday morning, seven points ahead of Banco Espirito Santo. However, the situation was more complicated behind the leader, with four teams separated by five points.

Dubai City – Team Sea Dubai has taken the lead on day one of the Dubai RC 44 Cup, the first event of the 2008 RC 44 Championship Tour which started today.
