Nereida

Looks like our friend Jeanne Socrates in having a bit of trouble on her 36 foot (11.2m) yacht Nereida sailing towards Trinidad. As you have read here at YachtPals.com, Jeanne is currently sailing solo on her first circumnavigation around the world.

Single-handed sailor Jeanne Socrates has been enjoying some really nice sailing on her yacht Nereida while crossing the Atlantic ocean. The experienced sailor has encountered near perfect conditions all the way from St. Helena island, and is due to make landfall in Brazil in the next couple of days.

Single-handed sailor Jeanne Socrates sent in a report that she has arrived safe and sound in St. Helena from Africa on her yacht Nereida! In her own words:

Jeanne Socrates has been sailing single-handed for about five years now on her yacht "Nereida", a Najad 361. She is currently 12 months into her first solo circumnavigation, having left Mexico in March of last year. Jeanne has now rounded the Cape of Good Hope, and is sailing north along the African continent, before heading across the Atlantic ocean to Trinidad.
