Transport from San Francisco to Ensenada Mexico - Forum Topic
Posted September 5th, 2008 by kumbayaI'm trying to find a honest trucking company who will carry my 38 ft trawler (25000 LB) from San Francisco to Ensenada. I'd be thankful for any phone numbers or names any trucking companies.
Thanks......JIM
Boat and Yacht Transport Part 2: Delivery Skippers
16 May Sometimes, for whatever reason, you want to get your boat from one place to another without sailing it. In part one, we discussed transporting boats overland via truck and trailer. Now we'll look at option two: hiring a delivery skipper. |
Boat and Yacht Transport Part 1: Trucking
13 May The obvious way to get your boat from point A to point B is to sail it. If you have the time, the boat, the equipment, the crew, the experience, the seasonal window, and the inclination, then that's the way to go. But what if you don't have these things? What if you want to spend some time on your own boat exploring rugged, foggy coves, and then want to spend some time anchored off a sunny beach strewn with coconuts, but you don't want to sail the thousands of miles between the two? Enter the marine transport industry. |
Alternatives to the Panama Canal? Forum
Posted April 25th, 2008 by noraDoes anyone know of an alternative way to get the boat across to the Pacific? Either onboard a freight ship or by road?
Our boat is stuck in a long queue waiting to transit the Panama Canal. Right now, the expected transit date is 15th June and there are 78 yatchs in front of us. We have been waiting since the 8th April already. As our boat has ten owners which divide the year between them, this is for us a very unfortunate situation.
The boat is a aluminium sail yacht.
