Kite Sailing from California to Tahiti - Anne Quemere
05 Nov San Francisco - As Americans gathered at the polls yesterday to elect Barack Obama president, Anne Quéméré headed out under the Golden Gate bridge in her tiny boat to kite sail her way across 4,350 miles of Pacific ocean. The solo adventurer hoisted her big red kite, and with a smile and wave yelled “we’ll see you soon in Tahiti,” as her 18 foot (5.5 meter) boat slowly excelerated away into the Pacific swells.

Angel Island Fire Lights up the Night
13 Oct San Francisco Bay - The jewel in the crown of San Francisco Bay, 740 acre Angel Island has been a destination and landmark of sailors for centuries, and enjoys one of the few mooring fields in all of California. Last night at 2100 local time, a fire was reported on the island (which is entirely a State Park). With the recent dry northerlies, the blaze was out of control in minutes, and was burning many acres within an hour, which is when YachtPals shot these night photos.
