Bahamas - Gin clear waters
Posted October 30th, 2008 by velellawater btwn ballast and hull?
Posted October 30th, 2008 by velellaWe hauled out recently and discovered water between the ballast and hull when we removed the bolts for the rudder strap. It appears this has lead to some delamination on the inner layers of roven that are close to the ballast. We pounded around with the hammer to find these dead spots. We have drilled some test holes and are trying to dry it out. Any advice would be great. We are also currently taking off the gel coat which was not in great shape. We discovered that on both sides of the boat about 2 feet up there is a bonding strip inside the hull. About every 8 inches from |

From La Paz to Puerto Vallarta
Posted March 20th, 2008 by KevinHi,
I just bought a Rawson 30 in La Paz, the first sailboat I've owned since 1985. I need to sail her from La Paz to Puerto Vallarta. We will be leaving the first week of May. In addition to myself, I have 3 inexperienced crew and one good life long sailor to make the trip.
My question is: What kind of winds and seas can I expect from La Paz to Mazatlan? And then onward to Puerto Vallarta? Right now the winds seem to be primarily out of the south and south by southwest.
Thanks,
Kevin
