Dinghy

Sailing Dingies to Catalina Island - Forum

Sci Fi Junky's picture

My friends want to take 14' FJs to Catalina Island from Marina Del Rey or San Pedro. I'm concerned about the wind or the lack their of. I don't know about the hull speed of the FJ but, I think it will take a long time to get there. There is no mounting for an outboard and it's a long way to paddle. The good news is that they have a double hull and won't sink.

What do you think?

Dinghy - Make Your Own

Although many would say an inflatable dinghy is a necessity for the cruiser, there is much to be said for the merits of a hard dinghy. They're a pleasure to row, tow well, require no set-up, don't leak, and just plain look salty.

Flying dinghy

I saw a video on this site showing a ultralight flying dinghy taking off from the water and flying around with two persons aboard.
