The largest sailing event in the UK is set to take place in just a few hours time, the JP Morgan Asset Management Round The Island Race.

In preparation for the event, I met with some fellow sailors at the Island Sailing Club and got a feel for the Race ahead. A friendly forecast will be helping us have a great day that will be a spectacle to watch from both the water and the land. Lewis Hamilton accompanies Alex Thomson on Hugo Boss and the other British Open 60's will be stretching their legs in their home waters of The Solent. Olympic Sailors will be there as well as legends such as Sir Robin Knox Johnson, sailors racing for charities and those representing the forces.

To help get a feel for the Start line I was privileged on my way across the Solent to be invited to the bridge of the Red Jet with Captain Ali and Right Hand Man Stu. I had a birds eye view of the Solent and the Royal Yacht Squadron line but what was most impressive was the sight of all the yachts out on the water practising for tomorrow.

I wish everyone a great day out tomorrow and safe and fast sailing.

- Dee
