I just watched Captain Ron, AGAIN. I love that movie, and the Formosa it is filmed on. My favorite quote from the movie: If anything's gonna happen, it's gonna happen out there. We say it all the time on our boat

I don't know about "favorite," but The Hunt for Red October
Because our radar is mast-mounted, we have to turn every once in a while to see what's (coming up) behinds us. We always say "CRAZY IVAN!!!"
"Favourite"- Summer Rental
Admittedly, Patti and I are John Candy fans, but we thought Rip Torn stole the show with his performance as "Scully".
"It's better to be ashore wishing you were at sea, than at sea wishing you were ashore."

A great old movie is Edward G. Robinson in the old Jack London classic, "Seawolf" - black and white but ever so powerful! A very dark film and disturbing too, but with really well done sailing and boat sequences is "Dead Calm", which was one of Nicole Kidman's very first big roles.
"Master & Commander" has got to be up there. "Surprise" was actually "HMS Rose" which lived for many years in Newport and Connecticut and did some serious sail training for lots of people. And who can forget Russell Crowe with his "Lesser of Two Weevils"
