Stunt Anchoring

Some of us have had to perfect some very strange anchoring maneuvers over the years.  Stern ties, bow ties, med mooring, bahamanian mooring, etc.

So, what's your weirdest anchoring situation?

anchoring off an exposed barrier beach

Travelling the Northeast,  I often anchor for the night wherever the wind dies, without motoring a dozen miles to the next inlet/marina.

Invariably the currents run along the beach, at right angles to the swell, making for a rolly time once the sails are down.   I found using a bridle, with the second line led to the stern cleat allows getting the boat pointed  accurately into the swell direction.  No more rolling.
