Prop Antifouling

What do you do to your prop for anti fouling?
We've used diaper cream (lasted about 6 months), grease (about 2 months), polishing (?), and neglect (doesn't work). I've always wanted to just paint the prop like the fishermen do, but then somebody will talk about electrolysis between the paint and the prop (which seems impossible with no electrolyte between), and I'll chicken out.
Anyone else?

Barrier Coat............
Do a Google search for "Pettit, Zinc Coat Barnacle Barrier". I heard some very good reviews of this stuff on other sailing sites, I intend to try it this spring at the annual haul-out.

Interesting
Looks kind of like a cold galvanizing. Makes a lot of sense. Someone else off-site mentioned some kind of "goop."
We paint
We paint the prop with bottom paint keeps the thing looking good till the next haul out

Prop Prep?
Do you have to do any special prep on the prop - acid wash or primer or anything?
No goop
I've used spray prop paint from West Marine. Holds pretty good whole season on the Lakes. It may be not so good in the salt water. After returning from Bahamas prop was covered in the barnacles with paint left only on the hub.
That's all Folks
Some folks I've seen use
Some folks I've seen use Sharpie marker....or any other black market. They swear by it. I'll be doing it on my boat next. Seems someone took their prop to a prop shop, who marked the work order number on the prop with marker. Seems that the only spot with no growth were where the numbers where written.
