DURING OUR CROSSING FROM SANTA BARBARA WE ENCOUNTERED MANY SHORE BIRDS, FINCHES ECT. ALL WERE VERY TIRED AND TWENTY MILES OFF SHORE. THEY WOULD LAND ON THE BOAT FOR A SHORT TIME THEN FLY OFF TO A CERTAIN DEATH, NO CHANCE TO FIGHT HIGH WINDS BACK TO SHORE.Cry
