Bayfield to Mackinaw City delivery, part 1
Today Shanti is leaving Bayfield, WI on western Lake Superior for a 400-mile delivery to Mackinaw City on northern Lake Huron for winter haulout. I will have a Spot personal GPS tracker on board so you can follow our progress on the following web page:

Lauren and Tom, from my 1997 Trans-Superior crew, are joining me for this trip, as well as Lauren's friend Chrystal. We still have to pick up the cruising genoa from the sail loft and make one final trip to the grocery store. We plan to leave around 4pm for the first leg, 95 miles to the upper entrance to the Keweenaw waterway. Wind forecast looks good for sailing.

Fair Winds!
Safe passage Gail & crew... May the winds be fresh and on you beam and may you never run out of coffee...

since you're off to the store anyway!
Fair Winds! 400 fresh-water miles sounds like an early autumn paradise.

Balmy Breezes and Sunshine!
What a beautiful time to be sailing to the Keweenaw! Have a wonderful first leg, and keep blogging! It's a perfect way to escape this office and fly down the shore with y'all. I hope you have sufficient chocolate.

Have a great trip
Have a great trip. Tell everyone hello. I will be following your progress from the desert where is is 102 degrees. Wish I was there!
