Tips for Santa Barbara
Ok so we are at the marina, sixty cents per foot per day, the marina has a on line service but it is poor at best. But you can get free Internet at the library and the best part is the bus is only 25 cents each way. Just take a short walk to the pier and jump the bus up town. The bus is all electric and has no glass in the windows.
Finding a grocery store is more difficult than you may think. There is a Ralphs one block of the main drag but the only way you can tell it is is by the tiny little signs saying no skateboarding posted all over the place. I mean no signage what so ever. It is like that all over old town.
Eating out is expensive and not near as good as home. Just a burger at Mc Ds. is four dollars.
Bring paint thinner and rags if you want to walk on the beaches as you will pick up crude oil from the off shore oil platforms on your feet. That sucks a whole lot. Caution on the laundry mats the tar will also get on your clothes.
