Sailing Photo of the Week - Mariah's Eye

Thierry Martinez took this striking shot during the 2008 Audi MedCup Circuit and caught our eye, so to speak.

Born in Grenoble in 1955, Thierry grew up in the area of Lyon. Trained as a technician, he started his professional life with the telephonic operator France Telecom. At the creation of the enterprise communication service, he changed his direction and started to work as a photographer, being particularly interested in sports and action photos.

More interested in the sportsmen themselves than in their boats, Thierry nevertheless likes photographing in extreme conditions. He has also contributed to the image of a great number of famous sailors such as Laurent Bourgnon, Michel Desjoyeux and Dame Ellen Mac Arthur. Thierry now lives in South Brittany and travels on photo shoots all around the world.
