wave powered boat

wave powered boatWe received word from Ken-ichi Horie on the wave powered boat last night. He is moving along at 2.2 knots using only the power of the waves. The weather and currents are working in his favor, and he is enjoying clear Hawaiian skies.

From Ken-ichi Horie: "This boat is more stable than a yacht - probably because the extra rocking is what's moving me forwards. I'm making good progress."

Highest speed was recorded last night

After it left, the highest speed was recorded last night. It went out by the peak by four knots also though the current influenced.
Moreover, a strong squall came, and a wide deck was cleaned thoroughly.
In the favor, it shines.

It enjoyed amateur radio for the first time. The state of the electric wave was also good, and it was possible to communicate with the great number of people.

I started using the microwave yesterday.

This is great! In just two minutes, rice hot, filling and ready to eat.

I keep thinking, "If only I had had this on my last voyage…" Oh well, it's too late now.

As I was leaving the Hawaiian Yacht Club issued a warning: "Around 6,000 whales have gathered in the ocean near Hawaii. Be careful!" I haven't seen one yet.

It is the first south wind. The transverse wave runs though the speed falls.

I began to hear Radio Japan.

It knew high school baseball had started.
