Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada - She’s circled the globe four times, delivering much-needed supplies to remote island schools, conducting impromptu medical clinics, and introducing nearly 1,000 people to the challenges and rewards of sailing a square rigged ship.

She’s the Barque Picton Castle, and this spring she’s setting out on a real adventure, a 12-month exploration of the Atlantic Ocean.

The sailing crew will visit exotic ports steeped in history and rich with culture. They will also live and work aboard the traditional sailing ship, learning timeworn skills, testing the sailors limits, and developing friendships that will last a lifetime. The ship will call at nearly 20 nations on four continents, including several long sea passages guaranteed to turn these 40 sail trainees into true square-rig seafarers.

We look forward to watching this voyage, and hearing the tales from the crew as they set of from Nova Scotia Canada in May.
