Tel Aviv, Israel - Now in its 4th year, the Med Red Rally is once again welcoming seasoned and new sailors to explore the Red Sea, Eastern Mediterranean, African Coastline and Sinai Peninsula. Sailing highlights on the Med Red Rally include transiting the Suez Canal, visiting the Pyramids, Valley of the Kings, visiting the Holy sites of Israel, scuba diving and more. Sailors have a choice of 4 diverse sailing routes: MedRedRally (May 10 - June 19), MedRace (May 10 - 15), MiniMedRed (May 10 - May 22), and the MedFunTurkey (June 6 - 19).

The MedRedRally 2008 will set sail on May 11th from Tel Aviv heading towards Port Said. There the yachtsmen will have a choice to continue down the Suez Canal to the Red Sea (stopping along the African coast for scuba diving, and visiting the wonders of Luxor), or staying in the Mediterranean and sailing to Alexandria and El Alamein to visit the Siwa Oasis and the Western Desert with the MiniMedRed group. Sailors with a taste for racing can participate in the MedRace. The MedRace, governed by IRC rules, combines a friendly competitive spirit with site seeing of the pyramids and Cairo.

May 30th, all the yachts will return to Herzliya for a week of touring Israel; the Dead Sea, Massada, Jerusalem and Jaffa and a Petra. Then on June 6th they will set their compasses northwest for a number of Turkish delights... Finike, Kekova, Fethiye, Marmaris and more. The MedFunTurkey leg, like the other routes, will be marked with a series of parties, jeep tours, nature hikes and visits to historical sites.

Each year over 60 yachts and hundreds of sailors from over 20 nations participate in the MedRedRallies. Inge and Edgar of the M/Y Freyheit, Germany who participated in Med Fun Turkey 2007, and are also participating in the Med Red Rally 2008 described the experience: "We have taken part in a number of rallies, but there is only on MedRedRally! What makes it different is not just the amazing diversity of sites and experiences, but the people."
