Our next adventure begins tomorrow at 6:30 am when we pull anchor and head south to Mexico. We should cross the border around 8:30. San Diego CaliforniaI am curious if there is a blue line in the water that marks to boundary between the US and Mexico. I’ll let you know if I see anything.

We have spent a week here in San Diego getting the boat back in shape and have had to make MANY trips to West Marine for equipment to replace the Traveler. Today at noon, I completed the assembly and considered it done. What does one do when you have a victory? HAVE A BEER! The fuel tanks are full and the jerry cans are topped off. The water tanks are full, the dingy is tied down and the hull and deck are clean. We are ready to go.

La Salina MexicoWe have just entered into Mexico.

We have arrived at our first port in Mexico. We had planned to make Ensenada the first day but decided to tuck into a port that a couple people had recommended, Marina Puerto La Salina. It is about 30 miles south of San Diego and is not yet on the charts.

Boats MexicoJose, who works in the harbor, took us to Ensenada today to help us with immigration and customs. The service is free. The service they give us here can only be found in a five star resort. It is not yet a picturesque place but it will be a large resort when they have it finished.

I am now flying the Mexico flag off of my spreader so we are now legal. The location here is 31.33.16N 116.40.69W. You still can’t find it on any charts. Charlie’s chart gives some spotty information and Mexico Boating Guide, by rains gives for data like lat/lon and phone number.

Boat MexicoWe already have had our fish tacos and are getting ready to go to the cantina for some tequila.

Short sail tomorrow to Ensenada.

Until then, be safe out there

Denny and Bob
