Boat or Dolphin?

Have you seen this new boat? Though it looks more like a dolphin, it's a boat, really. The Seabreacher is the latest watercraft created by Innespace, which is currently undergoing testing and will be available in limited numbers for Racing and demonstration events this spring. This high performance vessel was designed and built specifically for use in a newly formed race series, The Aquabatic Racing League (ARL).

Innespace (inventor of the seabreacher and dolphin boats) is recruiting teams to buy and operate their Seabreacher vessels to race at upcoming ARL events. Sponsored vessels will compete head-to-head in a specially designed course, where they will have to dive under, jump over, and smash through obstacles, gaining extra points for hitting aerial targets and performing freestyle tricks. With all the thrills of Monster Truck Racing and Acrobatic Air racing, this new freestyle watersport is sure to entertain.

The current race-ready Seabreacher is powered by a 250hp supercharged Atkins Marine rotary engine, and can achieve speeds of up to 50mph on the surface and a staggering 20mph while fully submerged! Vehicles can dive to a maximum depth of five feet and can jump out of the water as high as ten feet. All these freestyle tricks are made possible with four independent control surfaces that allow the vessels to perform with all the maneuverability of an aircraft (pitch, roll, and yaw). The engine can continue to operate while submerged by way of a dorsal fin snorkel. The pilot's visibility is maintained via a snorkel-mounted camera that transmits live video to the dash-mounted LCD screen. This can also be broadcast live to giant stadium screens so spectators can get in on the action.

Should be quite a sight, seeing these boats race. Watch out Flipper!
